I love combining my passion for God, law, and politics to be an advocate for religious freedom. One of the ways that I do this is by writing. In this blog, I focus my writing on the following areas:

Why Focus on the Intersection of Religion and Politics?

I agree with John Adams, our second President, when he said, “Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

Our founders believed that the only way our republic could stand was if the people maintained a relationship with God. This religion and morality would foster virtue and liberty.

George Washington stated in his Farewell Address: “Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports.”

The Bible says in Psalm 33:12, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.”

The key to maintaining and building the prosperity of the United States is to keep God in the center of our society and maintaining “A Moral and Religious People.”

This blog is my thoughts on the religious perspective of current events, prominent issues, and political philosophies in an effort to better understand God’s plan in each circumstance.

So, You Want to Know More About Me?

I grew up in Southern California. I was raised in church and accepted Christ as my Savior when I was 11. (For more about how you can do this too, check out Truth About Eternity)

I graduated from California State University, Bakersfield with a BA in Political Science. From there, I helped make an impact in numerous governmental offices including the House of Representatives in Washington, D.C. and local government in Southern California.

My most current adventure has me pursuing a JD from the University of Akron School of Law. I am an editor for the Akron Law Review where I manage the ConLawNOW online constitutional law journal. My law review note, “Masterpiece Cakeshop: A Formula for Legislative Accommodations of Religion” is being published in the Akron Law Review in the next few months. A pre-published version of it can be downloaded for free at SSRN. 

I am married to Megan, the best adventure buddy ever. Together we have a beautiful daughter who is the greatest little co-counsel this law student could ask for.

Along with writing this blog, I am also the author of two mini books, Religious Freedom in America and Religiosity in American Politics. You can download these for Kindle.

In my spare time, I enjoy hiking and exploring with my family; watching, coaching, and playing baseball; and waterskiing during the summer.
